The Apple MacBooks Pro 2021 and later (with M1/M2 chips) handle color on the built-in XDR display differently than before and differently from connected external monitors. Instead of providing the option to change the display profile from System Prefs/Display/Display Settings/Color Profile, as has historically been the case, Apple has changed the interface for their XDR displays, like those found on the MacBook Pro 2021 and later. To invoke different display profiles:
1. Launch the “ColorSync Utility” program from Applications/Utilities
2. Under “Devices” tab, you can view your “Current profile”, and this is where you can toggle between various profiles you created with TruHu, the Factory Profile, or any other profiles you may have created with 3rd party applications.
Note: You cannot select the Factory Profile (LCD-xxx) here. This cannot be overwritten by TruHu or other software, so selecting the factory default option would generate an error message.
If you want to delve a little deeper or happen to own a spectroradiometer (doesn’t everyone?) that you’d like to use to calibrate your display, you can check out Apple’s support on the topic.
